Review | Sugarpill ‘Burning Heart’ Palette

ImageImageImage

I finally got my hands on this palette. I have been eyeing it up for a very long time now. It is the perfect way to add some bright colours to my kit as I feel like it was definitely lacking them. First, I want to say I got my palette on Amazon.  Amazon happened to have the best price at £26.35 ( If you happen to know of a cheaper place to purchase the palette please share in the comments below).

Ok, onto the palette itself. This palette is one of the three palettes that came out with the Addicted To Pretty eyeshadow collection. Originally I really wanted to purchase the Pro palette which includes all eyeshadows from the three seperate palettes, contained into one bigger palette. It is definitely a lot more convenient, but sadly the Pro palette is only available at make up shows such as IMATS.

The ‘Burning Heart’ palette consists of a fiery red called ‘Love+’, a vibrant orange called ‘Flamepoint’, a true yellow called ‘Buttercupcake’ and the famous purple called ‘Poison Plum’. The colorful eyeshadows come in a cardboard packaging. Despite of it being cardboard the packaging is definitely very sturdy. The front of the palette has a very cool, pretty design on it, very typical of Sugarpill products. At the back of the palette you can find the names of the eyeshadows.

Moving on to the eyeshadows and their pigmentation. As you can tell by the swatches below (although I feel like the colours are even more vivid in real life) the pigmentation of these eyeshadows is truly amazing. They are just as vivid as they seem in the pan and they aren’t very chalky, which is something I really don’t like in eyeshadows.

I am really looking forward to using this palette! It is worth every penny you spend on it. After all it is money invested in good quality, pigmented eyeshadows.

Additionally I thought I would add a kind of pictorial of how I would use the palette. The photos aren’t great quality because of the bad lighting, but I thought that i would post them anyway because you can still get the idea.

1. Apply the red eyeshadow to the inside and the outside of your eyelid, connecting it in the crease, leaving the centre of the lid colour free.

2. Deepen the crease and the inside and outside of your lid with the purple.

3. Proceed by adding the yellow shade to the centre of your lid as well as the inner corner of your eye.

4. Apply the orange shade to the bottom lid and deepen the colour with the purple.

5. Apply eyeliner and some fake lashes and you’re done!

Hope you enjoyed this review and like the look I have created. Make sure you follow me on social media below. Until next time.

Current Loves | Illamasqua and Topshop

So I know I’ve been away for a very long time but I’ve decided to change the look of my blog a little and start blogging again. I thought I would start with telling you about 3 of my absolute favourite products at the moment.  Image

Topshop’s GLOW in ‘Polish’ £9.00

This highlighter is one of my favourite highlighters of all time. It has almost a kind of creamy mousse consistency which makes it easy to blend onto your skin. I like to apply a little bit underneath my foundation which gives the impression that the glow is coming from my skin underneath. Topshop offers this products in two colours. This creamy light colour, which suits my fair skin tone perfectly, and a rose gold colour called ‘Gold’ which will add a lovely bit of colour to your face along with the highlight.

1.Illamasqua’s Precision Ink in ‘Scribe’ £18.00

I don’t know what it is but recently I have been loving crazy coloured eyeliner and I feel like a white liquid liner is pretty out there. The colour goes on so opaque and once it’s on it is there to stay. Great for adding little accents to your eye makeup or if you’re brave enough wearing it as top liner for a unique look;).

2. Illamasqua’s Lipstick in ‘Posture’

I have been eyeing this for AGES! Well I finally bought it and I was not disappointed in the slightest. It’s a very unique, cool lilac lipstic with a matte finish so the staying power is amazing. For me this has been a staple autumn colour although I’m sure I’m going to be wearing it all year round. I’m planning to do a tutorial on a look using this lipstick on my youtube channel so keep and eye out for that if you want some inspiration on how to wear this kind of colour.

Review | BareMinerals Buxom Plumping Lip Polish

BareMinerals Buxom Plumping Lip Polish in ‘Debbie’ 4.45ml, £18.00

I’ve been using this for about a month now. I really wanted to give this lipgloss a good shot before i reviewed it. To be honest i have never been into lipgloss for the sole reason of my lips being really sticky and my hair getting stuck to it. It’s safe to say this is the first lipgloss that hasn’t annoyed me. I don’t feel like i need any ‘plumping up’ when it come to my lips as i am pretty happy with their size but when i apply this lipgloss by itself or over a lipstick it makes my lips looks nice and even but also adds a lovely sheer bit of colour. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this lipgloss to anyone who has a problem with lip products containing menthol as this one contains a lot of it. I quite like the feeling of it on my lips regardless and really enjoy the look of it as well. I also really like the smell of it although i cant quite explain what it smells of. To sum up i recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a sheer bit of colour to even out their lips:) Here is some more shots of the gloss:

Review: Maybelline Super Stay 24hr Lip Gloss

Recently I’ve been absolutely in love with lip products. Lipsticks, lip glosses, lip stains you name it!  I want them all! I have been on a hunt for some very long wearing lip colours for quite a wile now. It seems however long the colour stayed on my lips, it still wasn’t enough for me. I wanted more. About a week ago my prayers were answered and i found these little beauties! Not only is there a great range of colours, they stay on FOREVER and for £8.99 it is soooo worth it. I purchased mines in Boots but i would imagine they’re available in most drugstores that carry Maybelline. The lip gloss goes on really opaque. The product feels sticky on the lips but only until it dries and when it does it is there to stay no matter how many times you drink out of a glass or how many times you eat. The only thing is that my lips did feel a little dry and dehydrated after few hours but that is when the lip balm became usefull. It provided loads of moisture for my lips and did not take off or temper with any of the product already on my lips. One busy day later my lip colour looked exactly the way it did in the morning when i first applied it :-). It is definitely a 10/10 for me :-).
